NASA Space
Academy
Audrey (Fischer) Puderbaugh was one of 23
students selected in a national competition to
participate in the ten-week NASA Goddard Summer
Academy. Audrey's summer was partially sponsored
by the Kansas Space Grant Consortium. During the
summer about half of Audrey's time during the day
was spent working with a Goddard scientist on an
electronics miniaturization research project
using Die Cap Technology for High Density
Packaging. The second half of her day was spent
in a series of field trips and special events
designed to help the students learn more about
the infrastructure of NASA and the aerospace
industry. During these events, Audrey interacted
with aerospace leaders, including the NASA
Administrator, Dan Goldin; the Goddard Center
Director, Joseph Rothenberg; the Langley Center
Director, Jerry Creedon; the Chairman & CEO
of the X-Prize Foundation, Dr. Peter Diamandis,
plus a few astronauts. Finally, after hours were
spent working on group projects. What a great way
to spend the summer!!
